No Version Cue (as we knew it) in Photoshop CS4

I was running the trial of Adobe’s new Photoshop CS4 at work. So, the first thing I do is try to open a design comp I had been working on. File, Open… um, where the “Adobe Dialog”? I need to access the CS3 Version Cue server running on our network. So… can I not get to that anymore? Yes, apparently CS4 has a new application called Adobe Drive which will connect to a CS4 Version Cue server (and only a CS4 version cue server) to map a drive to the system like a regular mounted network drive. OK, so that makes the process of accessing these files a little more seamless for the user, but how about checking in files and synchronizing, etc? There’s nothing in Bridge for dealing with Version Cue at all. So, I guess I would have to upgrade our network Version Cue server to CS4 in order to get everything working, oh wait, there’s not upgrade process as far as I can tell! You just have to manually move all of your projects from CS3 over the CS4 just to work with the new Creative Suite. Way to go Adobe, Version Cue has always been a wonderful idea that is seriously dissapointing in it’s execution, apparently things are no different in CS4.

Today

Today is the day that 46% of the country wakes up and says “Really?
That guy? Huh.”

Update: ZeFrank made a nice attempt to reconcile any hard feelings.
